How do I book?

You can book directly with us, or through our Airbnb or TripAdvisor sites.


Who is the cottage suitable for?

We welcome couples, families and groups of friends alike.

The property does not have disabled access and guests must climb stairs.

We do allow children to stay, but please note, the cottage is not fully child-friendly. We do not have guards and locks on cupboards/appliances.

There is a highchair at the cottage. We do not provide a cot, but there is a bed rail.

When and how do I pay?

If booking directly with us, payment is by BACS Transfer. We will accept payment by Paypal, however this will incur a 3% surcharge to cover Paypal fees.

We ask for a deposit of 25% at the time of booking and the balance payment 4 weeks before your stay.

We are sorry but we do not accept payment by cheque or credit card.

Please see below regarding the Damage Waiver.

If booking through Airbnb and TripAdvisor, payment will be in accordance with their terms and conditions.


Do I have to pay a Damage Waiver?

In line with our Airbnb listing, we do not charge a Damage Waiver prior to your stay.

We do however ask that guests read our Terms and Conditions which state that in the unlikely event of damage caused to the property, we reserve the right to request a Damage Waiver fee of £125. Please refer to our T&Cs for full details.

If booking through our TripAdvisor site, fees will be in accordance with their T&Cs.


Do you provide insurance?

Although the Holiday Cottage is appropriately insured for guests, we do not provide you with holiday insurance.

We suggest that you make your own arrangements.


What is included in the price?

Heating, hot water, gas and electric are included and we provide bed linen, towels and tea towels.

Washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets are provided, along with cleaning products and a few essentials (foil, kitchen towel etc).

Handwash, soap, bodywash, shampoo & conditioner are also at the cottage and can be used if you wish.

The cottage is self catering, but in the kitchen there is tea, coffee, cooking oils and a few herbs and spices.

We also provide a welcome tray of milk, bread, eggs and some nibbles to get you started.

Please advise us of any dietary requirements beforehand so we can provide alternative bread and milk.


Is there WiFi?

Yes there is free WiFi at the cottage and you can find the log in details in the guest book.


When and how do I check in and out?

There is a key box at the property and we will provide the code a few days before your stay.

Check in is from 4pm, although we can sometimes make it earlier on request. This does however depend on the day/date of check in.

Check out is 11am.


Will I need a car?

Some form of transport is advisable to get to the cottage, although there is a bus stop around 10 minutes walk away.

Once at the cottage you will require transport to visit most of the Derbyshire Attractions, however if it's rest and relaxation you are after, there are numerous walks you can do from right outside the cottage door.


Is there parking at the property?

There is no parking directly outside the property, but there is street parking a few metres away.

There are also free communal parking spaces less than 100 metres away, available on a first come first serve basis.


Can I bring my dog(s)?

Yes you can. Dogs are most welcome at Clematis Cottage and Woodford (one of our dogs) has helped us create a list of his favourite walks.

We accept 1 well-behaved dog automatically and will accept additional dogs by prior arrangement.

We provide a few treats, blankets, a towel and dog bowls.

There is a fee of £20 per dog per stay.

PLEASE NOTE: NO DOGS ARE TO BE LEFT UNATTENDED AT THE COTTAGE AT ANY TIME.

Can I smoke at the cottage?

The cottage is strictly NO SMOKING.

We do not mind if you smoke in the garden, but we please ask that you do not smoke outside open doors or windows.


Where is the nearest pub & shop?

There is a pub serving drinks in the village and pubs serving food in Crich (20 minutes walk and a 5 minute drive). There are also pubs within a 15 minute drive which serve good food. Please check the serving times with them, especially on a Sunday.

Crich has a small shop, chip shop, Indian takeaway, bakery and a butchers. There are three large supermarkets within a 15 minute drive.
